Children are being immersed in a doctrine that is designed to teach the evils of one's forebears, to coat every brick laid in the history of the West in the blood of hapless victims. There is no attempt to herald the virtues of those who indisputably led harder lives than we and accomplished more than most of us can imagine or aspire to, or to recognize their humanity.
Thanks Sarah for another article that cuts to the core of the matter, and is beautifully written. Like Bruce Cockburn said in a song, "You gotta kick at the darkness 'til it bleeds daylight."
Another thought provoking piece. So many discount the achievements of those who came before us. We simply cannot fathom how difficult life was just to live, not to mention the achievements that took place in spite of those difficulties. Thank you for highlighting the stories as well as the moral inspired fables.
I'm saddened by what's happened and is happening in our country... it just seems to be getting worse by the minute. Am praying daily, the prayer that never fails, "Thy will be done, Lord."
Hey Sarah, I love your point of view. You speak for a yourself for sure but there is a great many of us who look to you to say what must be said. Always polish and always true. We’re with you!

We still have a zombie transcendentalism at play in our country. Europe's romanticism did not go the same way as ours, but the results are similar.
Good post, Sarah.
