Brilliant and profound as normal Sarah. Thanks for your keen insights into such foundational matters. I do have two minor 'disagreements' though. The first being that a true marriage must occur in a church and not "on a beach". I see no reason why a marriage ceremony before God cannot happen in a beautiful setting that is the work of His hands. And second, that marriage 'domesticates man's aggressiveness'. While this seems logical and might reflect reality to a degree, I think it does malign men, and (as far as I can recall) is not Biblical.

I do not feel it maligns men. Marriage does domesticate man's aggressiveness. My father claimed a number of times he would have killed someone if not for him having four children to look after. I cannot tell you the number of times that my mother stepped between my three brothers and I. Had mom not been there we would have killed one another.
