Once in a while, the Church goes through a dark period, whether religious strife with a brethren Church like the Orthodox, or corrupt leadership from maligned Bishops, Cardinals, or Pope.
But the Church always weathers these storms that satan or man's own sin throws against it.
We cannot allow the evils of a handful of men to taint the Church as a whole. Men are fleeting. The Catholic Church has existed for nearly two thousand years. And it is far more than those few twisted men. The Church is all of us. All the Doctrine, Traditions, Magisterium, Deposit of Faith, and so much more.
Let us pray the next Pope is a true Catholic and a protector of the Holy Church.
On a side note - I finally got Confirmed. At Easter Vigil.
I do not think he did- when one reads Pope Francis’ Letter and Encyclicals, it is clear that Christ and the Church were the center of his thinking. He was very different than the two previous popes in his approach to the many social and cultural dilemmas of his time as Pope, and as much as he was not as crystal clear, he never veered away from doctrine. Many claim false narratives of him. I would be filled with joy if we had a new pope like Benedict XVI or JP II but God allows what He allows. As Catholics and members of the Mystical Body of Christ, reverence, respect and prayers should be any and all commentary in regards to any and all popes. God is our judge alone.
Can you honestly say that the late Pope Francis, Benedict XVI, or John Paul II did much to bring disgraced Cdl. McCarrick, Msgr. Burrill, Mark Rupnik, and other sexual predators to justice? Sins of omission can be more serious than sins of commission.
Oh c'mon, Sarah! You can't speak of Francis...LOL! Sorry, I couldn't keep on typing with a straight face while trying to make a false positive about his pontificate. I have prayed for him. I do hope he reconciled and repented before being called to judgement. But his papacy was an abomination, and to try and veil it as anything otherwise is intellectually dishonest or downright heretical. Love your work!
I love this photo of the Francis aftermath: Parolin the man who sold the Chinese Catholics to their communist torturers; Farrell, the "I knew nothing" creature of BOTH Maciel and McCarrick; and Pena Parra, the man who has to stay on the grounds of the Vatican or he'll be picked up by Interpol on homosexual abuse charges. It's perfect.
I’m sorry to read this article and some of the comments. Pope Francis, Vicar of Christ; a man with a heavy cross, may he rest in peace. Like you and me, imperfect, and wrongly accused with false narratives. May God spare us from being falsely accused.
Francis was so on board with climate change it's surprising he didn't make Greta Thunberg a mother superior --- Howie Carr, Boston radio talker, author, & Boston Herald columnist.
Even if human intervention could reverse a 100,000-year orbital cycle, is it worth the cost to humanity? Making energy more expensive costs everyone but hurts poor people the most.
Yes, they are right up there with governments and corporate criminals that have controlled and enslaved humanity. Nothing is new under the sun. The satanic elite.
Factoids: Benedict was the German pope who was drafted into the German army during WWII & served in an antiaircraft unit in Bavaria & anti tank unit in Hungary. He eventually deserted & was taken prisoner by the US army. As pope he had the good sense to resign due to his age. He was 78 when elected, the oldest pope since the 1700's.
"Papa Ambiguo" -- impossible to beat that name! No wonder St. Malachy suspended his prophecy at "Gloria Olivae."
"Papa Ambiguus" would have been too depressing even for a 12th century Irish saint.
For a dozen years the best apologia anyone could ever make for Francis' pontifications was, "it's _eloquent_ ambiguity!" And you're so right, somehow or other these statements were not at all ambiguous for the media and the audience of initiates.

New chapter. New Pope.
Funny how things happen sometimes...
Congratulations on your confirmation!
Fr. Joseph Fessio's characterization of Pope Francis is truly memorable: “Papa Ambiguous.”
I'm a Christian, though not Catholic, but I appreciate hearing your view on this.
When we don't defend morality, immorality wins. The late Pope largely withdrew from the battle.

Sarah, you came into my pleasant thoughts in the wee hours this morning. Nice to see a post by you today.
You really nail it with this one. Glad you converted, despite this fellow :)

The news rpts say Francis will be interred in the Santa Maggiore basilica in Rome. Interment is NOT the same as "burial".
The public has a very jaundiced view of this deceased Pope if you look at the memes on social media.
This is what happens when a Pope practices moral rectitude.

The most unkind, uncharitable and NON Catholic post that I have ever read.
You must not be very well read, Fr. Kozak.

Bravo! The Catholic church is another massive, corrupt bureaucracy. Its evil throughout the ages is well known. I support Sarah for Pope to reform it.
