Today is the 2-year anniversary of my starting this Substack, and I just wanted to thank everyone for encouraging and facilitating it. I began writing here during a particularly tumultuous part of my life, when I nevertheless wanted to explore cultural issues at a deeper level, but wasn’t confident in my ability to write.
To my relief, my first essay, written deep within the covid years about the immorality of forced vaccinations, was well received. Over time, I wrote more and was joined by so many of you, who told me that you found benefit in reading the issues that I was exploring. I became more committed to doing so, and published for other outlets too, including Crisis Magazine, Catholic World Report, National Catholic Register, and Catholic Answers.
In September of 2022, I was in a serious automotive accident in which I broke both of my arms. Producing videos during that period became impossible, because of the substantial mouse use required for video editing. I was still able to dictate essays during that period, however, albeit slower than I would like. Thus, my writing became more of a focus for me. That trend continued even after I healed.
A couple of months ago, I enabled paid subscriptions and began writing here more frequently. One cannot achieve cultural change from behind a paywall, so there isn’t one, but those subscriptions have enabled me to dedicated more time to this work, while also being able to pay the bills. Thank you.
I’m currently aiming to produce two essays weekly. If you find them helpful, please consider sharing them with your friends and family. That’s the only way that I can grow in a world that relies upon highly centralized sources of information.
Congratulations! A lot of people would have given it up after the setbacks you endured.
👍🏽 Keep it up
