Lyft, the popular ridesharing platform that rivals Uber, has rolled out a new program: Women+ Connect. With it, female riders can specify their preference for women drivers and vice versa. Apparently, the service is being rolled out because plenty of women prefer being driven by other women, especially if they are strangers. Unfortunately, men represent a potential threat to women, in part because they are naturally so much stronger, and can easily overpower. Yet, Lyft’s program doesn’t stop there.
Turning on the new feature will “increase your chances of matching with more women and non-binary drivers.” That’s intriguing. By including “non-binary drivers,” they completely invalidate the reasoning behind why women might use the feature (unless they simply hate well-adjusted men). People can only be one of two possible sexes, which is reflected in biological realities. The aforementioned strength differences are one of them. Thus, entertaining the modern hysteria around gender theory invalidates any goal of supposedly protecting women from men, because plenty of those claiming to be “non-binary” are men (which is one of the two binary options). Likewise, those claiming to be “transgender women” are men, and they are also included as women in the program.
According to Lyft, this program was built in partnership with the National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives and the National Sheriffs’ Association, further clarifying that this program is about safety. Yet the worldview that is incapable of defining a woman cannot create a women-only space.
I doubt the legality of a system that so obviously discriminates against men who are qualified, have been through a background check (like all drivers), and are able to perform the job that they signed up to perform. In this system, healthy men are relegated to a second class, behind both women and those embracing this delusional fad.
As a woman, it’s easy for me to see why women might feel safer with female drivers, potential moral/legal issues aside, but not with a person of unknown sex who wants everyone else to engage in his delusion. There is no basis on which to believe that a straight male is more of a threat to a woman than one in the throws of either profound mental illness or ego-centricity. The opposite is true.
If a person is to get into a vehicle with someone, they are effectively placing their life in the hands of the driver’s judgment — but those claiming to be “non-binary” cannot even judge what sex they are by looking down.
Lyft’s announcement then proclaims:
A few things are amiss here. “Diverse” is used differently in varying scenarios, but it can never mean the opposite of its definition. Ridesharing without men is less diverse, because it has a smaller pool of people, with fewer variances. One cannot claim to be more diverse while simultaneously celebrating a reduction in the diversity of your workers.
Further, the claim that “diverse communities are stronger”, so often regurgitated in the modern age, is flatly wrong. Similarity builds bonds, which make for stronger friendships. To be diverse is to lack commonality. Who has a strong bond with the person with whom he shares nothing in common? It is, of course, possible to have deep friendships with those who are not like us in every regard, but it is not our differences that unify us in those cases. It is what we share in common that does, whether that be an interest, a background, or a physical trait. The diversity is not a source of strength, but a potential obstacle that can be overlooked.
This new Lyft “feature” of pairing female riders with “women and non-binary” drivers is to be the new default for women who use the app, unless they disable it in their settings. So, an unsuspecting woman will get an increased density of those with, at best, confused sexuality, all allegedly to make her safer and more comfortable. This also creates the potential for perverts to claim to be women or non-binary in order to increase their share of potential victims.
The advent of gender theory decimated female spaces, all the way to public bathrooms, because in an age of relativism, nobody can agree on a single absolute (such as what a woman is). This groundless rejection of truth so often harms those that it pretends to help. Ultimately, you can’t build a civilization on groundlessness, and a real civilization defends women and children.
"If a person is to get into a vehicle with someone, they are effectively placing their life in the hands of the driver’s judgment — but those claiming to be “non-binary” cannot even judge what sex they are by looking down."
I love it, Love It , Love IT!
Query whether 'reasonable' accommodation is now up to and including rape. From me too, to punch the Terf in the face, rather quickly. Denying predators will game the system to access prey means the movement expects prey to submit.
