We have become increasingly reluctant to call evil what it is, preferring to explain even horrific acts through trauma and pathology. When suffering becomes an excuse for evil, we dehumanize the very people we claim to defend.
"If we wish to proclaim that Christa Pike was simply affected by her early life to such a degree that her actions are in some way understandable, then we must proclaim that in those acts of abuse that she suffered, she lost her agency."
In an infinite mirror image we then have to trace back every trauma that every one of her abusers had also suffered ad infinitum back to The Garden."
It is un-Christian and ultimately a futile chase always into the past.
As Mary Midgley notes in Wickedness (1984), neither physicians nor psychiatrists ever asked to be burdened with the task of making people morally good. Nor should we expect them to be able to.
In my humble opinion, what is now evil is considered good and what is good is now considered evil. Murder (plain and simple) is being defended and even seen as a solution if the person is mentally ill from past life experiences or they just "snap" because they can't take it anymore. And we wonder sometimes why people become nostalgic for times gone past like the 1950's and perhaps earlier. Those times certainly had their issues, but nothing like we see today. And yes, I would be more than happy to drive a 2dr., two-tone, 1954 Chevy Bel-Air, dress in a tweed two piece suit with a tie and fedora and a pipe to smoke when I arrive home where I can enjoy a nice adult beverage and a newspaper all before dinner.

We live in a SATANIC world where Evil is bad and bad is Evil, this is the view of Peter Thiel of Palantir expressed by himself.
Are the black robes of our judicial system becoming the robber barons of our dignity, our humanness?
They should have used Mexican fentanyl for the execution, the government has plenty and it is certainly lethal.
