In the haste to use AI for everything, we risk replacing something as fundamental as a human voice on the end of the phone in a crisis. Let's slow down and think this through.
I am acquiring an acute hatred for AI, as everything that uses it (my experience) has made things more confusing, time consuming, and requiring follow-up. Honestly, the room for error and complication is HUGE!
AI is seen as a great cost cutting tool here in the UK , unfortunately . But i am very shocked that Orleans would try to save such a small amount of costs by replacing a real person . With most jobs being replaced with AI and other tec , nobody seems to raise your points nowadays . AI is not only dangerous and is possibly becoming sentient or conscious , whatever that is ,but nobody really knows how it works or where it could lead. Such a very sad state of affairs that costs or money savings trumps the human being and our many interpersonal gifts.
The replacing of humans with machines has clearly been detrimental to humanity. AI, the latest technology, is going to be used in more ways to separate us from others and degrade humanity further.
But its been a long time now where you can't pick up the phone to call a company, to call a governent agency, or to call your doctor's office and speak to a human without going through a recording wasting minutes of clicking this number then that number or never being able to speak to a human. So we have already been programmed not to expect to talk to another human being no matter what we want to do.
