Just “Yes”. Thank you Sarah for giving us words of encouragement during these weeks of ordination for our wonderful seminarians. In spite of the differences we have with our current Bishop, we need to focus on the importance of these young men dedicating their lives to ministry.

What does black pill temptation mean in the context of this article?

I think it becomes clear when you read the full essay at Crisis, but it's a disposition of negativity that borders upon despair.

I had read the full essay. I would not have dared to ask such a question without having done so.

A daughter of mine recently has moved to a small town in SC, near the border with NC. According to her, the NO mass in NC less than 5 miles away from where she lives is much more reverent than I suppose what the Bishop of Charlotte desires (and much more reverent than the ones where I live).

The Charlotte Diocese has long been traditional, especially under the former Bishop Jugis, so that wouldn't surprise me at all. All of the younger priests are celebrating beautiful, reverent Masses. Most of them do their private Masses in the extraordinary form, if you ask them. There are lots of reasons for hope.

As a Christian whose not a Catholic, I'm encouraged that you, and others in the Catholic Church recognize the importance of following Christ with reverent faithfulness. Our Lord, as scripture has pronounced, is the same today as yesterday. Though our understanding is hopefully growing daily it's an understanding that should be drawing us to the creator who spoke all things into being and lovingly want's us to know him as he is, not the fallen world's 'devil may care, do whatever' version that follows those who should be seeking to live for and glorify Him instead of a false god who doesn't encourage a Holy People but a 'do whatever the current thing is' people. Heaven is for those who love God and want to experience the joy of His love and truth for eternity. God's Truth is eternal.
